Following a very fruitful conversation with Chris Basten of 'Dragon Models' we have had some of his superb etches reduced to 2mm scale.
The models represent pre-grouping prototypes typical of South Wales. They are unlikely to have strayed too far but will be suitable for layouts on most of the Great western system.
Initially available as etches only we will consider adding castings and extending the range depending on sales. In the interim detail parts available from the 2mm Scale Association will enable you to complete them.
Please note that these are complex kits and many of the parts, being reduced from 7mm scale in some cases, are miniscule. No instructions are offered and so prior experience of etched kit construction is recommended. It may be possible to accommodate N guage wheelsets on 12.25mm axles from the 2mm Scale Association and to this end it is recomended that builders employ Association W irons as replacements for those included in the etch.
Barry Railway 'mite' - a matched pair of bolster wagons on a smaller wheelbase than the popular Peco offering. Kit includes the two etches. Price £11.50
Brecon & Merthyr Railway 2 plank general goods wagon - often seen but rarely modelled 2 plank wagons would have been used for the transportation of all measure of items. Price £8.50
Taff Vale Railway brake van - an extremely common site across the South Wales coalfield. The vans were ultimately absorbed into GWR stock and repainted in GWR colours. Price £13.50
Note that Jerry has used the brake van body and foot-boards from the kit but mounted them on a 2mm Scale Association 9' underframe etch. For N gauge modellers it is worth highlighting that the Mathieson Models N gauge kit is also a perfect base for the body once the planking has been removed and offers an easy means to achieve a free running model.
